Endless Loop Light Sculpture

Transforming plants into powerful sculpture, the one-of-a-kind Endless Loop Light Sculptures designed by the team at Model No. enlighten and resolve the conflicts inherent in design, creation and consumption. 

Geometric shapes stand separate but symmetrical through their shared negative space. Ash hardwood and bio-resin upcycled from saw dust fuse by way of a common local origin. Traditional milling and craftsmanship meet 3D printing technology to make something functional and desirable from something left for waste.  

Like all pieces in the Endless Loop Series, we make these sculptures from locally indigenous ash wood. The saw dust - recaptured during the milling and fabrication steps – has been upcycled into proprietary bio-resins for 3D printing. Employing 3D printing and digital manufacturing, we then precisely engineer and make its sculptural rings and translucent shells to transmit a steady glow. 

More than arresting and functional, these 10’ sculptures cast light on the relationship between the objects that we want and the waste we create in making them.
